New Images From Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, Trailer Release Date Unveiled

Big news!  After months of waiting, we finally have an air date for the 50th Anniversary’s trailer! This Saturday the trailer for “The Day of the Doctor” will be posted on BBC America and is scheduled to air Saturday on BBC One right before Atlantis.  



In addition to this, we got some great new stills from the episode featuring Matt Smith and David Tenant!

Scores of Lost Doctor Who Episodes Found in Africa

For days rumors have been swirling about the 106 lost episodes of Doctor Who that were found in Africa, and it looks like there might be some truth to those rumors after all.  BBC news is reporting that BBC Worldwide will make an announcement concerning the findings in an upcoming press screening.

A number of early episodes of Doctor Who, which were believed to have been permanently lost, have been returned to the BBC.

BBC Worldwide is expected to confirm the find at a press screening in London later this week.

It follows weeks of speculation that some lost episodes had been located.

A total of 106 episodes featuring the first two actors to play the Doctor, William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, are currently missing.


UPDATE:  This was posted on the Doctor Who Facebook Page. Lost episodes are available on iTunes!

We are delighted to confirm that nine previously lost episodes of#DoctorWho have been recovered and are now available to buy exclusively on iTunes!

All six episodes of ‘The Enemy of the World’ and five of ‘The Web of Fear’, starring Second Doctor Patrick Troughton, were found in a relay station in Nigeria and are now available to buy for the first time.

Karen Gillan States She’s Not in the 50th Anniversary Special

In a recent interview with the Radio Times, actress Karen Gillan who played the eleventh Doctor’s companion, Amy Pond, said she will not be in next month’s 50th Anniversary Special.


“I’m not in it, just to put that out there,” said Gillan.

So what are her plans for the 50th anniversary special?

“I’m going to watch it!”


“I think I’m going to be in America, so I’ll probably round up all the people who like to watchDoctor Who in the area. We’ll probably watch it and drink PG Tips and eat Jammy Dodgers, if I can get them.”
